An ankle sprain, whether mild or severe, caused by inversion of the foot is one of the most common injuries to the lower limb; it occurs whilst walking, jogging or taking part in sporting activities. The ankle is a joint subject to considerable strain.
A stabilising ankle brace or elastic ankle support restricts inversion and allows only flexion and extension whilst the ankle ligaments are healing. It reduces swelling and promotes healing.
Achilles tendinitis and plantar fasciitis also require specific support.
