Orthopaedic Hiking Boots

We offer three types of orthopaedic walking boots, known as immobilisation boots, to aid your recovery from severe sprains, ankle fractures and fractures of the lower third of the leg:

• Inflatable or pneumatic boots with rigid shells: These replace plaster casts or resin casts for severe sprains, ankle fractures and fractures of the lower third of the leg.

Short boots are more suitable for injuries to the foot and forefoot. The pneumatic versions offer a combination of support and pneumatic compression, which helps to reduce oedema and promote early recovery.

• Standard boots: The leg sections are mouldable, allowing a good fit to the patient’s body shape; they are used for severe sprains or fractures of the ankle or lower leg.

• Articulated boots: These are used following surgery on the Achilles tendon or for tendon injuries; the articulated boot allows the desired range of motion to be adjusted.
