Indications

The Support Everest Ice knee brace combines several uses; it is indicated for the post-operative phase following knee surgery requiring immobilisation: for arthroscopy, osteotomy, osteosynthesis, ligamentoplasty and patellar repositioning. 

It is indicated for moderate to severe sprains of the lateral ligaments (LLI, LLE) and/or the central cruciate ligaments (ACL, PCL), as well as in cases of meniscal injuries, knee surgery, rehabilitation and return to activity. 

Suitable for cases of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) sprains, as well as stage 2 and 3 sprains of the medial and lateral collateral ligaments.

Description

The degree of compression and support is adjustable via four independent straps.

The knee brace combines the various functions of immobilisation, cryotherapy, compression, prevention and return to activity.

-The tourniquet effect is prevented by an anti-slip system that keeps the brace in place.

-Lock-in tabs are easy to position, allowing control of the range of motion in flexion and extension or locking at 0°, 15°, 30°, 60° and 90°.

-The knee sleeve is compact and removable; it contains a cold pack for localised external cryotherapy.

The brace comes with two cold packs so you can keep a spare in the freezer, and an inflatable cover fitted with a hand pump.

Instructions for fitting the knee brace.

Step 1:

• Take your measurements: measure the circumference of your thigh 15 cm above the centre of the kneecap.

Step 2:

• Before use, detach the cold pack from the knee sleeve and place it in the freezer for at least 4 hours.
• Once cooled, secure the cold pack to the knee sleeve using the Velcro straps.

Step 3:

• Ensure the temperature is suitable.
• If necessary, place a cloth between your skin and the cold pack to prevent any discomfort.
• Place the sleeve around the knee with the opening centred over the kneecap.
• Secure the knee brace using the Velcro fastenings.
• Before putting it on, ensure that the hinges are adjusted to the desired degree of immobilisation.
• Open the Support Everest brace.
• Release the anti-slip system.
• Position the brace, ensuring that the hinge axis is aligned with the centre of the kneecap.
• Secure the anti-slip system, then close the brace over the knee sleeve.
• Then close the brace completely.
• Extend the straps, clip them in place and then adjust the tightness.
• Set the valve to “ON” and inflate the sleeve to the desired level of compression.
• Once the desired level of compression has been reached, set the valve to “OFF” and detach the pump.
• To deflate, screw the pump onto the knee sleeve, set the valve to “ON” and press the button at the base of the pump to release the air.
