Indications

The DonJoy Stabilax knee brace is particularly recommended for support and stabilisation in cases of mild knee instability, offering a medium level of support thanks to its polycentric articulated struts, which provide effective lateral stabilisation whilst maintaining optimal functional mobility.

This knee brace is specifically indicated for the prevention of knee hyperlaxity, controlling excessive lateral movement without restricting joint mobility. It is also suitable for providing support and compression following a mild injury to the lateral ligaments of the knee (LLI or LLE), aiding the recovery phase thanks to its mechanical stabilisation system, which is more robust than that of standard fabric knee braces.

The DonJoy Stabilax knee brace improves proprioception and helps prevent injuries during sporting activities thanks to its graduated compression, articulated stabilisation system and adjustable straps that stimulate sensory receptors. The DonJoy Stabilax knee brace combines advanced 3D textile technology with a mechanical stabilisation system featuring articulated struts to provide enhanced ligament support whilst maintaining comfort and natural mobility.

High-quality 3D anatomical knit

This knee brace is distinguished by its high-quality, flexible 3D anatomical knit with multi-directional elasticity that moulds perfectly to the contours of the knee. The elastic fabric maintains effective graduated compression with strategically positioned decompression zones to prevent excessive pressure points. The soft texture of the breathable fabric feels pleasant against the skin and effectively wicks away moisture for optimal comfort, even during prolonged exertion.

Semi-rigid polycentric struts

The distinctive feature of this knee brace lies in its semi-rigid bilateral plastic struts, fitted with polycentric joints that replicate the natural movement of the knee. These joints precisely follow the joint’s variable axis of rotation during flexion and extension movements, thereby ensuring optimal biomechanical guidance without placing abnormal stress on the joint structures. The semi-rigid side panels provide effective lateral stabilisation that controls the abduction and adduction movements responsible for ligament injuries, whilst allowing full freedom of movement in the sagittal plane.

Removable and adjustable straps

The 5 cm thigh and calf straps, which are removable and adjustable, provide additional compression and support, reinforcing the knee brace’s fit and optimising the effectiveness of the articulated struts. These straps can be adjusted individually to customise the level of compression according to needs and activities, and can be removed if less support is required. Their secure fastening system prevents the knee brace from slipping or rotating, ensuring that the lateral struts remain perfectly aligned with the joint axis.

Patellar stabiliser and anti-slip system

The SBR foam patellar stabiliser maintains the patella in the correct position, reducing abnormal stress and improving the overall biomechanics of the knee, complementing the action of the lateral struts. The anti-slip silicone strip provides additional secure support, which is particularly important for an articulated knee brace that requires precise positioning to ensure the effectiveness of the mechanical stabilisation system.

Care and versatility

The knee brace is machine-washable at 40°C on a delicate cycle after removing the plastic struts in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. It is latex-free, making it suitable for people with sensitivities. The bilateral model fits either the right or left knee thanks to the symmetry of the polycentric struts. Available in 7 sizes (from T1 to T7), it adapts to all body types to ensure an optimal fit and maximum effectiveness of the stabilisation system.
