Indications

The Tonus Hand Air immobilisation splint is indicated for the treatment or prevention of muscle contractures in the hand and fingers, and for spasticity.

The TONUS™ Hand Roll is designed to help spread the fingers and reduce pressure in the palmar region. Patients who have suffered from severe contractures over a prolonged period are at increased risk of developing problems with hand hygiene and pressure-related issues in the palmar region and on the fingertips. This can lead to skin lesions and local infections. The TONUS™ Hand Roll can be used both to prevent pressure sores and to assist with finger extension. The reduction in spasticity is fairly limited as the wrist joint is not stabilised. The TONUS™ Hand Roll can also be used in combination with a wrist splint to stabilise the wrist.

Description

The Tonus Hand Air splint is adjustable and inflatable at the palm; it is effective for hands with severely contracted fingers.

The pocket is inflated using a pump and can be deflated before removing the orthosis. The gentle pressure applied to the flexor muscles reduces contractures. Supplied with a pump and a cleaning bag.

The soft cover can be replaced and ordered separately. It can be machine-washed after removing the inflatable pocket.

The measurement to determine the size is taken at the metacarpophalangeal joints or the palm crease.

Please specify right or left hand. 

One size fits all: measurement between 8 cm and 12 cm (circumference 18 cm).
