Wrist and thumb splint

Conditions affecting the wrist and thumb are caused by a sprain, tendinitis, a rheumatic condition, carpal tunnel syndrome or rhizarthrosis.

The wrist-thumb splint immobilises or restricts the range of motion of the wrist and thumb whilst relieving pain during movement.

The most common condition affecting the thumb is rhizarthrosis, which causes pain during the opposition movement of the thumb – that is, the movement that allows the thumb to face the other fingers of the hand.
